Aims and duties
- Its duty is to approach the Reality of the Degrees, and to propose actions for their improvement.
- Coordination Committees will have as point of reference the objectives of each degree, and they will aim for the training the students take to fulfil these objectives. If the objectives are considered to be out of focus, they could propose the readjustment of these objectives.
> - The Coordination Committees’ conclusions should work as reference for deliberation and internal communication, and the aims of the degree should work as reference for the duties of external communication with the previous teaching levels, with the manufacturing sector and with society in general.
- A Coordination Committees’ duty is to be in charge of the lecturers in the degree knowing it in depth, so they can raise their teaching as a way to contribute to the objectives of the degree.
- The Coordination Committee for each degree will pose monitoring of the academic performance, and the need to approach this data to lecturers and students, so promoting that they answer trying to solve the problem.
- Coordination Committees will be in charge of watching over the support and improvement of the practical aspect of the degrees, considering that this approach is very significant in the training of the students, but at the same time the attitude of students and lecturers and, above all, the lack of material or human resources make it very vulnerable, as most of the time more emphasis is placed in the theoretical aspects in spite of the practice.
> - Monitoring Committees will analyze the teaching situation trying to identify the way the subjects are taught and proposing alternatives for its improvement.
- Monitoring Committees will demand the advice of UCA’s Quality Unit in the technical aspects that they may consider to be out of their knowledge or that exceed their capacity.
- Different degrees’ Coordination Committees will try to work following some similar guidelines, so communication in this coordination initiative for the whole center, becomes easier.
- Initially, Coordination Committees propose open meetings in which students and faculty may take part, but they can also organize meetings for their full members only.
- Degree Coordination Committees will pass judgement of the lack of resources that should be cared for so the degrees may improve.
